Hello, lovely!

I’m Jen, aka Brightography, a baby and family photographer in Hurstpierpoint.

I have a particular fondness for the sweet things in life; animals, babies, Disney films, chocolate, ice cream and sticky toffee pudding…actually, pretty much any dessert!

Living in the foothills of the beautiful South Downs, I love warm, sunny days walking in the countryside or by the sea along the Sussex coast and nearby Brighton (ice cream in hand, of course!). Otherwise, you’ll find me and my husband enjoying a good movie or TV box set binge, sharing a nice bottle of red wine and planning holidays. When we get the chance to escape the UK for a while you’d likely find me sunbathing and scuba diving, sight-seeing or hitting the slopes on my snowboard.

Our priorities changed a little back in March 2019 though with the birth of our first baby, Ollie. Now life is more about farm visits and swimming lessons and falling asleep by 10pm!

It goes without saying that my other great passion is photography and creating beautiful imagery. As Hurstpierpoint’s family photographer, I enjoy meeting lots of local babies and families; getting to know your story so I can portray something unique about your family through images is what I’m all about.

“…trained with some of the best baby photographers in the UK…”

Regardless of whether it’s your family portrait update or your baby’s first taste of birthday cake, I aim to make my photo sessions as fun and relaxed as possible.

I know how awkward it can feel when it comes to having photos taken. I try to encourage family sessions to be more about you having fun as a family and less about me pointing my camera at you. For those less sure about being in front of the camera, I will offer a little helpful direction, but the most beautiful photos generally come from just doing your thing as a family.

“…what baby says, goes!”

My baby sessions are always baby-led, meaning that if your little one needs a cuddle or feed, or has simply had enough, then what baby says, goes!

Whichever session you book with me, you can rest assured that your family is in the safest hands during our time together. I am a certified baby and child photographer, having trained with some of the best baby photographers in the UK. I am also First Aid and safety trained.

If you want to talk through ideas for a photo session you’re planning, feel free to get in touch.
